The client does not require installation, and will run from any directory it is placed within. It will store various configuration files and downloads/uploads in directories at this level. A directory will be created for each chat site you visit.
The latest Synapse Chat client can be downloaded from:
Configure
On initial startup, there are no servers configured, and Synapse Chat will offer to send you to Compkarori's chat server. You can type the name of your server here in the text field, and click the Enter button.
You will then be presented with a field to enter the url for the server. By default, the url for the Compkarori server will be appear. Replace that with the url you have been given.
If you have not used this server before, the Guest userid and password appears. If you have accessed this server before on the same computer, your userid and password will now appear.
Note that if you do not have an account, and the remote user registration is enabled, you can now use the Register button to register on that server.
